6 Tips to Refresh Your Goals

We are officially halfway through 2019! This is always a great time to reflect back on the past six months. Are you taking strides toward the goals you set at the beginning of the year? Are you making the progress you were hoping to see? Even if your efforts or results have fallen flat this year, you still have time to crush your goals before the year is up.  Use these tips to refresh the goals you set and finish the year strong.


Re-Evaluate your Goals

Go back to the beginning. What New Year’s resolutions did you set? Are your goals still strong halfway through the year? Would they still be a challenge to achieve? If your goal doesn’t excite or challenge you in any way, you’re less likely to find the motivation to achieve it. Maybe you’ve already accomplished what you set out to do. If this is the case, add an extra layer or step to your original goal and keep up the momentum and progress you’ve already established.  Remembering what you wanted and why you wanted it is a great way to become action-minded as you think about next steps.

Create a Game Plan

Now that you’ve re-evaluated your original goals, take a look at where you are now. Have you made any progress? If not, that’s okay! Everyone has to start where they are with that they have. Laying out a game plan gives you a road map to follow. Get organized by listing out steps that have to be taken, the timeline you’d like to do it in, and where those steps are going to take you. When you have a strategy going in, it cuts down your chances of feeling overwhelmed and quitting. It’s even been suggested that writing down your goals makes them more likely to be achieved! Get to planning and start writing.


Hit the Ground Running

Creating a plan is half the battle, but you don’t have any time left to waste. 2019 is already halfway over. But you still have half a year left. Think about where you want to be, and get started right away! Today is always a better option than some day. When the countdown to 2020 begins, where do you see yourself? What kind of progress have you made? Use the game plan you created to launch yourself into goal achievement. The more consistently you take those steps, the more momentum you build. Putting things off will only lead to loss of motivation. Keep pushing yourself to take the next step and you’ll be several steps closer to smashing your end of the year goals.

Don’t Make Excuses

Choose accountability over excuses. The journey toward achieving any good thing will always contain obstacles and roadblocks. Decide that what you want is worth it and stop making excuses. You and your goals are worth the effort. This doesn’t mean you have to be perfect to finish the year strong. Consistency isn’t always hitting the mark all the time; sometimes it looks like trying again even after you’ve missed something. No matter what obstacles you face the last half of this year, you’re capable of pushing through and achieving great things.

Think Big

If you think small, you’ll achieve small. Dare to think and dream of reaching the big things. Believing in more means accomplishing more! Don’t think that a six month time crunch has to hold you back. Let the time-frame challenge and motivate you to reach for more than you could’ve imagined was possible. This mindset will help you finish the year strong.


Finish Strong

Motivate yourself by taking the Finish Strong Pledge! Not only does this keep you accountable, but it’s a great way to put you in an achievement mindset at the halfway point in the year. Saying you believe and know you can finish strong and accomplish anything is the best mid-year refresher. There’s nothing magical about January 1st. You can take the first step towards reaching your goals any day of the year.
