What an amazing trip. Having the opportunity to meet so many great people and share the Finish Strong message was a real blessing for me. I was blown away a the reception in Mandeville and the Borders Book store on St. Charles. Two amazing events and so many great people. That this was Borders best book signing ever is a testament to the positive spirit of the people of NOLA. They get the Finish Strong attitude perhaps better than most.
I can’t wait to go back.
1. BELIEF – You must believe that: “The Cost of Regret FAR EXCEEDS the Price of Discipline” – Peter Lowe. You can never recover this moment in time…did you make the most of it? Will you lie down at night with a feeling of satisfaction or regret? It’s up to you.
2. CHOICE – You must take control of your emotions and actions and choose to Finish Strong. “It’s not what happens to you, it’s how you choose to respond that matters” – Epictetus. Recognize your “Finish Strong Moments”. Take a breathe, think about your options and then make good choices.
3. BE ACCOUNTABLE TO YOU – resolve to be your own best coach, cheerleader or fan! You and You alone are responsible for your actions. Don’t let external factors influence or distract you from your objective.
4. IMPROVE THE AVERAGES to FINISH STRONG! – Set realistic goals, then work towards them one step at a time. “Inch by inch life’s a cinch, yard by yard life is yard. Resolve each day to improve your averages. – smoke 1/2 a cigarrette at your break, wake up 5 minutes earlier than the day before, make it to the gym 1 day per week. Whatever tactical elements you need to reach your goal, start off in small steps and keep improving your average success each day.

The Naperville-based author of the inspirational book “Finish Strong” has more than a passing interest in Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIV. The New Orleans Saints, who meet the Indianapolis Colts for the NFL championship, have become the personification of Dan Green’s 116-page book, which chronicles people who overcame adversity and achieved success.
Had a good time chatting with the “Munch” man himself. Very high energy guys. Enjoy.

It’s the new battle cry for tens of thousands, two words that summarize the deep hope, boundless courage and heartfelt determination of people everywhere. It’s no wonder, since these two words clearly define the call to action in America more than any other two words in the English language.
Dan Green, author of the book Finish Strong is working with NFL Football Star Drew Brees to spearhead an effort using the words Finish Strong to raise funds for charities in New Orleans. This past week, over 40,000 fan t-shirts with the words Finish Strong emblazoned on them were purchased by New Orleans Saints fans to help raise almost $250,000 for local charities. Drew Brees tweeted that their goal is 75,000 shirts by game time Sunday. The shirts retail for $15 to $20 at a number of locations in New Orleans and online.
The message is clean, simple and spot on, just like Drew Brees’ passing game. “Our City, Our Home. Finish Strong.”
Can any T-shirt be more achingly of the moment? It seems to sum up all the hopes, fears and lip-biting of this so-close-it’s-almost-painful roll to the Super Bowl. No wonder the Finish Strong shirts — a charity project conceived on the fly by Saints players — have broken nearly every unofficial T-shirt sales record local retailers can remember.
